About the photographer

Miss Chief Portfolio > About the photographer

I’m Murielle, the photographer for Miss Chief Photography, I am not a professional photographer, I have a deskbound 9 to five job in an office and photography is a big hobby of mine.

I am French but have lived and worked in Jersey since 1988 so I guess my English is pretty decent (but I still have the accent).

Life is too short and when I am not working, I like to have fun and capture that with the camera.

I’ve enjoyed taking pictures from as long as I can remember, the big leap was about 10 years ago when my lovely husband bought me a Canon SLR EOS 7D for my birthday. Unfortunately, at the time I was juggling the family life, a full time job, a part time job and studying for a degree with the Open University. So there was no time to learn to use the camera to its full potential.

My last degree course ended in December 2012 and from then on, I have started to play with the camera a lot more and understand its technicalities, the pictures have started to improve and I am now happy to share them with the world.

In the last 2 years I’ve had photos published in the “Women in art magazine” and the local newspaper the Jersey Evening Post.

Should you like any of the pictures featured on this site, there is a strong chance that you will be able to find them on my Photobox gallery. If not drop me a line and I can always add it within 48 hours. I have used Photobox for a number of years and have never been disappointed with the quality of their prints/canvases, etc… and the speed of their service. Prices are also a plus point for them as they are very reasonable.

The little commission I make from sale of photos is reinvested in new equipment to carry on taking fun pictures.
