About the artist

Hi,

I’m Murielle, the photographer and glass artist for Miss Chief Photography & Glass studio, I am not a full-time artist and have a desk bound job Monday to Friday to help with paying the bills!

I am French but have lived and worked in Jersey since 1988 so I guess my English is pretty decent (but I still have a Gallic accent).

Life is too short and when I am not working, I like to have fun and do what I like, take the camera for a walk of work at cutting my fingers on glass in the workshop.

Over the years I’ve had photos published in the “Women in art magazine” , the local newspaper the Jersey Evening Post and featured in Dennis Smith book on light painting.

I am available most weekdays after 2pm if you would like to book a photoshoot.

The glass work is a more recent addition to my bow, but I just love putting together images with pieces of glass. Once I started creating, I couldn’t stop! Each piece starts with a paper drawing design from something that pops in my head, followed by glass cutting and assembling until I have the finished product.

Some of my glass work can be seen in the window of the Maison de Normandie (Christmas display). Most work is done by commission, so don’t be shy and if there is a special picture you would like to immortalise in stained glass, get in touch for a quote.

I really hope you enjoy what I am showing off on the website, and if there is something you would like to see, drop me a line and I’ll see if I can oblige.

All the best

Murielle
